(Annajm) 53 : 36
أَمْ لَمْ يُنَبَّأْ بِمَا فِي صُحُفِ مُوسَىٰ
Or hasn’t he been notified with what is in the Scripture of Moses?
Before deputing Muhammed as Messenger, the people at Macca were obliged to live according to the code of conduct of Messenger Mose’s Scripture. Since the mother of Messenger Muhammed-Amina-hadn’t lived according to the code of conduct of Mose’s Scripture, Allah prohibited Messenger Muhammed from seeking forgiveness for her who had died when Muhammed was six years old as explained in verse 9: 113-114.
